This isn’t exactly a local story, but this is a great story of 5 quick thinking boys being hailed as heroes for jumping into action to save an eight year old child dangling from a chairlift at Grouse Mountain in Vancouver.
Global News reports the boys had the presence of mind to quickly run and grab a nearby piece of orange netting to catch the boy. They instructed him to kick his skis off before dropping and thankfully the boy was uninjured after plummeting 20 feet into the safety net strung out by young teenagers.
Grouse Mountain Resorts spokeswoman Julia Grant the company’s president will meet privately with the rescuers to express his gratitude and the boys will receive season passes to the mountain.
Wherever you are, stand up and applaud: these clever kids are basically heroes and we salute their brave actions. Well done boys!!!
