August 25 @ 4:00 pm - August 27 @ 5:00 pm$50 - $100
This years Upper Gatineau White Water Festival is an event for avid white water paddlers and residents of the surrounding area to discover the recreational attractions of the Gatineau River. The festival helps educate the public and the government about the importance of protecting the heritage of the river.
The river is subject to the construction of hydroelectric dams that affect the flooding of river banks and that artificially regulate the flow of the water. In addition to this, they are permanently restricting access to this section of the river’s beaches and panoramas. These projects will deprive residents of the exceptional recreational potential of this part of the Gatineau River.
Over the years, the Upper Gatineau White Water Festival has become one of the most important events of its kind in North America, attracting white water enthusiasts of all calibers from Quebec, Ontario and the United States.
The festival will be taking place from August 25th at 4pm to August 27th at 5pm. It will cost $100 for adults which includes a campsite for Friday and Saturday, lunches on Saturday and Sunday, supper Saturday, shuttle rides and access to the river and it will cost $50 per child (7-14). These prices include taxes and service fees and the tickets can be purchased here.
