An outdoor recreation club for adults 50+
The Active Living Club (ALC) is designed for adults 50+ who want to enjoy the outdoors in a safe, healthy and fun environment. Take part in hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing programs throughout the year in and around Ottawa and Gatineau.
Register for individual activities or for one all-inclusive annual membership. The $110 membership is sold only in January, expiring in December and allows you to participate in all of the ALC activities for the entire year.
Seniors over 65 receive a 10% discount on both the membership and the individual activities listed below.

Get out and get active on the trails around Ottawa and Gatineau. Monday hikes are Level 2 (2 hours with some hills or uneven terrain); Wednesday Hikes are Level 1 (1 1/2 hours mostly on level terrain); and Friday hikes are Level 3 (2 hours on mostly hilly terrain). All hikes are lead by competent guides. A calendar of locations for hiking will be provided upon registration. Hiking runs from September 8 to November 10 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am to noon. Fee is $45 and the barcode is 933703.
Hiking Locations: A Trail Directory containing driving directions to the starting points of each hike will be provided to you upon registration.
Take advantage of the extensive network of bicycle paths in the Ottawa and Gatineau areas with our Level 1 Cycle on Tuesdays (approx. 15-25 km) or try our Level 2 Bike tours on Thursdays (approx. 25-35 km) on paths and roads. Both levels are about 2 hours long including a 10-15 minute snack break and are lead by experienced cyclists. A calendar of locations for cycling will be provided upon registration. Cycling runs from September 2 to October 30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to noon. Fee is $45 and the barcode is 933710.
Cycling Locations: Tuesday Level 1 rides depart from the Pretoria Bridge (meeting on the bike path south west of the bridge). Thursday Level 2 rides depart from various locations.

Winter activities generally include snowshoeing on Mondays and Fridays and cross-country skiing on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Winter activity information will be available in late October.
