Mont Sutton to Host “Divas On Skis” Salomon Thursdays

February 1, 2011 in ski

divas_on_skisMont Sutton is running a special to get the ladies out on the slopes: all-day lift passes on Thursdays are just $25.

Sutton is also encouraging women to sign up for a 2-hour lesson by donating $2 from every lesson to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. These lessons are geared towards women and are taught by female instructors.

And to make it all the more interesting, Mont Sutton is also giving away a pair of Salomon women’s skis at the end of the season to one of the Divas on Skis lesson-takers.

Sutton’s a bit of a drive from Ottawa – almost 3 hours – but it’s a great mountain: 53 runs, nine chairs including three quads and six doubles, a nice big vertial drop of 1,500 feet!

Find out more about the Divas on Skis at the Mont Sutton website.

Mont Sutton Celebrates 50 Years, Dec 17-19

November 29, 2010 in ski

mont_sutton_gladesMont Sutton is throwing itself a 50th anniversary party in a few weeks with birthday cake, an après-ski dinner, prizes, and lift tickets for just $5… and that’s just the Friday!

The rest of the weekend features races, kids activities, DJ, and a special commemorative dinner on the Saturday night for $30, which includes a fancy outdoor concert.

Sounds like a fun weekend to hit up Mont Sutton, especially the $5 lift passes (the same price they charged on opening day, in 1960). Sutton is on the fringes of OurdoorOttawa’s coverage area – about a 3 hour – but features 54 runs – 40% of them glades – on top of 1500’ of vertical, making it one of the premiere ski resorts in the east.
