Fitzroy Cross Country Ski Trails
Situated within Fitzroy Provincial Park, the West Carleton Nordic Ski Club provides both classic and skate skiing through beautiful forest trails. This is a volunteer run community ski club that offers a great outdoor activity for the whole family while enjoying the wonderful winter outdoors.
Fitzroy Provincial Park Cross Country Ski Trails
The West Carleton Nordic Ski Club has joined forces with local volunteers, the City of Ottawa, and Fitzroy Provincial Park, to provide almost 10k of classic and skate cross country ski trails.
Fitzroy Provincial Park is a beautiful setting for a cross country ski, and the WCNSC clubhouse is located right in the park. There are two main trails maintained by the WCNSC:
- The Perimeter Loop (5km)
- Pine Grove Trail (3km)
There are a few other trails throughout the forest, but none are marked for skiers. You'll also find snowmobile and ski orienteering trails, but they're not recommended for cross country skiers.

Overnight Stays at the Cabin
This is perfect for weekend getaways for cross country skiing or snowshoeing. The cabin is comfortable for 2 people, includes a sofa-bed, woodstove and small eating area. The cabin is off-grid - there is no hydro and washroom is an outhouse. Heated by a woodstove (wood provided) and barbeque available for cooking.
This cozy cabin is equipped with all pots, pans, plates and utensils, just bring your food and sleeping bags. This place is ideal for those who love outdoor activities or just relaxing at a quiet, secluded getaway while watching the deer go by.
