Capital to Capitol by Canoe Almost in Washington
October 11, 2012 in paddling by Dave
A group of paddlers set out on September 5th for the Capital to Capitol by Canoe: an 1800-kilometre adventure from Ottawa to Washington DC… entirely in a voyageur canoe! I just checked into their Facebook page and it looks like they’re into Maryland, and just a short way from Washington!
This intrepid group has been paddling down rivers, lakes, canals, and into harbours and bays for almost 40 days now, all with the message that water knows no boundaries, and that “we must transcend political borders and work together to protect and restores our rivers.”
Check out the the Capital to Capitol Facebook page for the latest pictures and updates, or visit the Capital to Capitol website for more background info on the trip!
